China's leading breast cancer experts to visit the Center

A meeting with a delegation of China's leading specialists in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment will take place at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology — Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan.

The delegation includes heads and professors of the National Cancer Center of China, Henan Cancer Hospital, Peking University Cancer Hospital Inner Mongolia Hospital and other leading medical institutions in China. Leading specialists in medical oncology, breast surgery and radiation therapy will take part.

Meeting programme

• a presentation by Professor Ma Fei, «China's national initiative against breast cancer: quality, standards and innovation»;
• a discussion of modern approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in Uzbekistan;
• consideration of opportunities for joint research between Uzbekistan and China and for carrying out grant projects;
• a round table on improving the quality of treatment, training doctors and developing clinical capacity;
• a visit to the Center's clinical units.

During the meeting, special attention will be paid to developing joint scientific projects, organizing educational programs for doctors, improving the system for monitoring the quality of breast cancer treatment, and strengthening long-term cooperation between specialists of the two countries.

The meeting will be another important step toward developing international cooperation, sharing advanced experience and introducing modern approaches into oncology care practice.
