Common questions

How do I make an appointment at the center?

Call the reception at 1303 or use the appointment booking link on the Contacts page. Have your identity document and referral letter ready, as these are usually needed when booking.

What documents should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a valid identity document, your referral letter, all previous test results and imaging (discs if available), pathology reports, and a complete list of your current medicines including vitamins and supplements.

Do I need a referral to be seen here?

For most specialist consultations a referral from a general physician or another medical facility is required. Contact reception before your visit to confirm what is needed for your specific situation.

How long does the first consultation usually take?

A first oncology consultation typically takes longer than a routine visit because the specialist needs to review your history, examine you, and discuss next steps. Allow at least one to two hours, though some appointments may run longer depending on investigations.

Where can I find out about service prices?

Current prices should be confirmed through reception or the official price list before making any payment decisions. Prices vary depending on the service and whether it is covered by insurance or a referral scheme.

What happens after my first consultation?

Your specialist will explain what investigations, if any, are needed. Once results are available, your case may be reviewed by a multidisciplinary team before a treatment plan is agreed. You will then have a follow-up appointment to discuss the findings and recommendations.

Can I bring a family member to my appointments?

Yes. Having a companion present can help you remember information and feel supported. Let the reception team know in advance if you are bringing someone.

Is psychological or wellbeing support available?

Yes. The palliative and supportive care team can be involved at any stage of treatment, not only at end of life. Support may include symptom management, psychological support, and practical guidance. Ask your treating doctor or nurse to arrange a referral.
