Health Minister's delegation visits the Center; Supervisory Board holds its regular meeting

Today, a delegation led by Minister of Health Eldor Adilov visited the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology — the Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan medical center — and the Center's Supervisory Board held its regular meeting.

The Supervisory Board members present included Maqsud Saidov, Director of the National Medical Center; Zohid Shavkatovich Ermatov, Executive Director of the State Health Insurance Fund; and Aylin Akin Hasret, Director of the «Health Management» center management company, along with other board members.

During the visit, the delegation learned about the modern medical infrastructure created at the Center, the quality of services provided to patients, advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and prospects for the Center's further development.

It was noted that the Center now operates in partnership with France's prestigious Gustave Roussy institute, under the «Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan» brand and international management. Within this cooperation, modern standards of managing a medical institution and a quality control system are being introduced, and 100 young oncologist-surgeons are planned to receive advanced training in French clinics by 2030.

Issues discussed at the Supervisory Board meeting

  • the Center's work in 2026;
  • developing cooperation with regional branches;
  • improving the quality of medical services;
  • digitalization;
  • effective use of modern diagnostic equipment;
  • staff training, including in radiology;
  • developing the pathomorphology service;
  • reimbursement of treatment costs for patients referred by the State Health Insurance Fund;
  • improving the control of oncological diseases in women;
  • proposals to establish a National Commission for the use and oversight of oncology drugs.

Priority tasks

  • introducing unified standards of medical care for oncology patients based on the requirements of the Gustave Roussy institute (France);
  • turning the Center's laboratory into a centralized reference laboratory;
  • establishing a National Reference Pathomorphology Center at the hospital;
  • improving the system of using oncology drugs.

At the end of the meeting, specific tasks and priorities were set to further raise the quality of oncology care for the population, widely introduce modern medical technologies and increase the Center's effectiveness.
