Professor Brian Tudor leads breast and cervical cancer care seminar
US expert Professor Brian P. Tudor led a scientific-practical seminar on 6-12 August on diagnosing and treating breast and cervical cancer, followed by a working visit to the Center's Khorezm branch on 13-14 August.
As part of a national project to improve the quality of breast and cervical cancer diagnosis and treatment in Uzbekistan, international expert Professor Brian P. Tudor, MD (USA), led a scientific-practical seminar on 6, 7, 10, 11 and 12 August.
The seminar covered
- modern diagnosis, staging and treatment of breast and cervical cancer;
- analysis of clinical cases with the international expert;
- strengthening multidisciplinary team work;
- mammography, pathomorphological and radiological diagnostics, drug therapy and radiation therapy;
- patient referral and cooperation between clinical units;
- applying international clinical guidelines and evidence-based medicine in practice.
On 13-14 August, a group of specialists led by Professor Tudor visited the Center's Khorezm branch, reviewing its clinical and diagnostic units and the regional cancer care system. Multidisciplinary team (MDT) consultations were held with oncosurgeons, oncomammologists, oncogynecologists, chemotherapists, radiologists and pathologists, and practical recommendations were given on diagnosis, staging and treatment.
