Dr. Mai Barakat appointed head of quality and patient safety
The Center has appointed Dr. Mai Barakat, a specialist with international experience, to lead quality control, patient safety and clinical governance. She began her duties on 3 August 2026.
The Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology has appointed Dr. Mai Barakat, a specialist with international experience, to the leadership position for quality control, patient safety and clinical governance. She began her duties on 3 August 2026.
Dr. Barakat previously led the quality and patient safety function at Gustave Roussy International – Egypt. She also managed the introduction of a modern quality system based on the Gustave Roussy Quality Manual 1 at the first Gustave Roussy International hospital in Cairo.

- Improving the quality management and clinical governance system
The appointment is an important step toward developing the Center in line with international standards, raising the quality of medical care to a new level and creating a safer clinical environment for every patient.
