Pink October 2026: Open Doors Day on early breast cancer detection
On 14 October 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00, the Center hosts an Open Doors Day dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer, with international guest Professor Fatih Aydoğan and moderator Professor Sevilay Özmen.
As part of October, the international Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology — Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan is holding an Open Doors Day dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer.
The event takes place on 14 October 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00, at the Center in Tashkent. It brings together leading specialists in oncology and breast disease, media representatives, journalists, bloggers, women's associations and communities, public organisations and everyone who cares about women's health.
The special invited international expert is Professor Fatih Aydoğan, a well-known specialist in breast diseases from Turkey, who will share his extensive professional experience in early detection, modern diagnosis and treatment. The event is moderated by Professor Sevilay Özmen, a specialist of the Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan medical center.
The central theme is the early detection of breast cancer and the need for women to undergo regular preventive examinations. The programme includes:
- current statistics on breast cancer;
- the modern possibilities of early diagnosis;
- the importance of screening and preventive check-ups;
- an analysis of the causes behind late detection;
- recommendations on examinations according to age and individual risk factors;
- open dialogue between doctors, media representatives and the public.
Specialists will explain why it is important to see a doctor at the recommended intervals, and not only when symptoms appear. Media, bloggers, women's communities and public organisations play a special role in bringing reliable medical information to a wide audience.
The main message is simple: do not wait for symptoms and do not delay examination. Detecting the disease in time makes it possible to start the necessary treatment early. Pink October is an opportunity to recall the most important truth once again: early diagnosis can save a life.
