Center performs its fifth autologous bone marrow transplantation
A patient from Tajikistan who underwent an autologous bone marrow transplantation at the Center was discharged in satisfactory condition on 10 September 2026 — the fifth such transplantation successfully carried out at the Center.
On 10 September 2026, a patient who had undergone an autologous bone marrow transplantation at the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology was discharged from hospital in satisfactory condition. This is the fifth autologous bone marrow transplantation successfully performed at the Center and marks another important step in developing high-technology onco-hematological care in the country.
A notable aspect of this case is that the patient came from the Republic of Tajikistan for treatment, reflecting the Center's growing capacity to provide modern specialized medical care not only to citizens of Uzbekistan but also to foreign patients.
Autologous bone marrow transplantation is a complex treatment method in which the patient's own previously collected haematopoietic stem cells are returned to the body after high-dose therapy. The procedure requires thorough preparation, modern technology, strict infection control and continuous clinical monitoring.
The treatment was carried out by a coordinated multidisciplinary team of onco-hematologists, transplantologists, intensive-care specialists, laboratory staff, clinical pharmacologists and nursing personnel. The patient completed all planned stages of treatment and was discharged with the necessary medical recommendations.
