Center and regional branches hold multidisciplinary tumour board meetings

The Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology (RIOvaRIATM) and its regional branches held further multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

Two separate MDT discussions were organised:

• the first addressed complex clinical cases in oncourology;
• the second reviewed in detail the cases of patients being treated in oncogynaecology.

Oncourologists, oncogynaecologists, chemotherapists, radiologists and pathomorphologists from the Center and its regional branches took part, together with a specially invited foreign professor of pathomorphology, joining both in person and online.

During the discussions, the clinical, instrumental, laboratory and morphological findings for each patient were analysed in detail, and the conclusions of specialists from different fields were coordinated. Particular attention was paid, especially in complex cases, to clarifying the diagnosis, correctly assessing the stage of disease, defining the scope of any additional examinations, and selecting the most appropriate individual treatment strategy for each patient.

The aim of these meetings is to further improve the quality of care for oncology patients, ensure a multidisciplinary approach in complex cases, strengthen professional cooperation between the Center and its regional branches, and consistently introduce advanced international practice.
