Pink October: early diagnosis — a vital step for life
Within the Pink October month, the mammologists of our Center are conducting weekly screening examinations at the Ministry of Internal Affairs hospital, using mobile mammography to detect breast cancer early.
As part of the «Pink October» month dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, screening examinations aimed at the early detection of breast cancer are held every week at the hospital and polyclinic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The examinations are organized with the help of a mobile mammography unit and with the participation of the mammologists of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology — Gustave Roussy International Uzbekistan.
The aim of the screening
- to detect changes in the breast before clinical signs appear;
- to improve the chances of diagnosing breast cancer at an early stage;
- to identify women in the risk group and refer them for the necessary additional examinations;
- to strengthen awareness of the importance of regular preventive check-ups;
- to foster a responsible attitude among women toward their own health.
During the examinations, the Center's mammologists assess the mammography results and, where necessary, give recommendations on further diagnosis and specialist consultation.
The importance of early diagnosis
When breast cancer is detected early, the effectiveness of treatment is significantly higher. For this reason it is important not to wait for symptoms to appear, but to undergo preventive check-ups within the recommended intervals.
