Introducing International Specialist Dr. Öztürk, Medical Oncologist
The Center introduces Dr. Öztürk, a Turkish specialist with many years of clinical experience in internal medicine and medical oncology who has worked at leading public and private hospitals across Turkey.
Dr. Öztürk is a Turkish specialist with many years of clinical experience in internal medicine and medical oncology. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Ankara University (Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi) in 1993 and later completed specialty training at the Faculty of Medicine of Gazi University (Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi), first in internal medicine and then in medical oncology.
Over his career he has worked at leading public and private medical institutions in Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya and other Turkish cities, including Ankara Özel Sevgi Hastanesi, Özel Bayındır Hastanesi, Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, the Faculty of Medicine of Adıyaman University, Antalya Özel Medline Hastanesi and Memorial Ankara Hastanesi, and as a medical oncologist at the Medicana Çamlıca and Medicana Kadıköy clinics of the Medicana Sağlık Grubu in Istanbul.
Main professional interests
- personalized cancer therapy, with treatment selected according to a tumour’s molecular and genetic features;
- immunotherapy that activates the immune system against cancer cells;
- targeted therapy using “smart” drugs aimed at specific molecular targets in tumour cells;
- diagnosis and treatment of solid tumours, particularly breast, lung and gastrointestinal cancers.
