Cancer is a serious medical and social problem that seriously affects human health. According to the world health organization, the incidence of cancer is growing every year. There are about a million primary oncological diseases in the world. The most common type of cancer is breast cancer. The next most common are stomach, lung, and cervical cancers.
Although malignancies are difficult to treat, they can be prevented. International Agency for research on cancer (IARC) The world health organization has published 12 ways to prevent cancer. This:
1. Do not smoke or use tobacco in any form.
2. do Not allow tobacco smoke to enter the home or workplace.
3. Try to maintain your weight within normal limits.
4. Be physically active in your daily life. Don’t sit all day.
5. Follow the principles of a healthy diet:
eat a lot of cereals, legumes, vegetables and fruits, limit fatty foods, sugar;
Avoid meat products, red meat, and salty foods if possible.
6. Don’t drink alcohol.
7. Do not stay in the sun too long, especially protect children from the sun.
8. if you work in the chemical industry, protect yourself from carcinogens if you follow the safety rules.
9. if you live in the mountains or in areas where there is a risk of radiation, determine the presence of radon radiation. Try to reduce the high level of radon.
10. for women:
Breastfeeding reduces the risk of cancer in the mother. If possible, breastfeed.
11. make Sure that your children participate in the immunization program:
Hepatitis B (for infants)
Human papillomavirus (HPV) (for adolescent girls).
12. Participate in screening programs to prevent breast, cervical, colon, and stomach cancer.
The country has created modern conditions for cancer prevention among the population, and this process is constantly being improved.
Based on the Presidential Decree “on measures for further development of cancer services and improvement of cancer care in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021”, important projects are being implemented aimed at strengthening cancer prevention, improving screening methods and high-tech types of diagnostics.
