Annual XVII conference of oncologists of Uzbekistan

On November 17, 2020, the annual XVII conference of oncologists of Uzbekistan entitled “PALLIATIVE ONCOLOGY: NEW HORIZONS AND PROSPECTS” was held online, organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republican specialized scientific and practical medical center of Oncology and radiology, as well as the Association of oncologists of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by more than 750 participants from different regions of the near and far abroad countries.

Welcome speeches were made by the Director Snptower, President of the Association of oncologists of Uzbekistan, the Main oncologist of MOH of RUz, Professor Tillashaykh M. N. and the Head of Department of science and education of MOH of the Republic of Uzbekistan Professor U. S. Ismailov.
At the opening of the conference, foreign colleagues made presentations by E. V. Kumirov, MD, Head of the Department of neuro-Oncology of the Federal state budgetary institution “NMIC dgoi. Dmitry Rogachev”, (Moscow, Russia) on the topic “Problems of early integration of palliative care in children’s Oncology”, Professor Ozgur Ozilhan-head of the Department of cancer palliative care, Baskent University, Istanbul on the topic “concept of palliative care development on the example of Turkey”, A. A. Fedenko-head of the Department of drug therapy of the National research CENTER of Oncology. Herzen (Moscow, Russia) on “Targeted therapy in palliative treatment of soft tissue sarcomas”.

Subsequently, the conference continued in the form of 3 breakout sessions:
SECTION 1. Palliative Oncology: necessity or extreme;
SECTION 2. Chronic pain syndrome and vectors of hospice service development in Uzbekistan;
SECTION 3. Prospects of public-private partnership in Oncology. Citizen participation in the fight against cancer: the role of social movements.

Among the Russian scientists there were presentations by Professor M. A. Gafur-Akhunov, MD Alimkhodzhayeva L. T., Zahirova N. N., Kamyshov S. V., Nishanov D. A., PhD Agzamkhodzhayeva D. A., Koren L. P. Ososkova A.V., Ziyaev Ya. P.
All sections discussed reports on topical issues such as psychological, palliative, accompanying and Hospice care for severe patients with advanced stages of the disease who are not shown specialized therapy.
